Thought, or Meditation ? You and thought are NOT TWO, when imagined separate; it becomes duality of subject-object relationship. This hides the state of awareness. But, when the awareness is centered on thought, the thought dissolves. At the beginning, stay in and with the thoughts. Just be there. (Though becomes center of the thought). This awareness brings a complete openness by dissolving each thought one at the time. Thus each thought becomes meditation. Wherever you are, driving a car, sitting around, working, talking, any activities you have, when you are very disturbed, very passionate, raging, overcome with the worst possible grief, or you feel depressed. GO inside that thought become compactly aware of it THIS IS MEDITATION.
