Thought someone might could use this tonight as encouragement: I have PANDAS. I was 15 when diagnosed and now Im about to be 25. I have had a tough battle as many others have but I want everyone to know there IS hope! Hope in God and hope getting through the illness. I have come a long ways. I almost had Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) in 2010. I was told that I would never make it through college. But now, I am in my last semester of classes and have to do an internship in in spring. I will be a college graduate with a BS in Recreational Therapy in May 2015. Tonight as I study for a test and am having trouble reading and re-reading (an OCD) and comprehending what I read (comprehension skills declined tons when I developed PANDAS), I am reminded how good God is! I have totally learned that I HAVE to completely rely on Him. Tell your kids or whoever you know dealing with PANDAS or any illness that they will make it through with Gods mighty help! I know I have gone through the things I have for a reason. I wouldnt change my life and how I have suffered for anything! God has molded and shaped me and I wouldnt be where I am today without His help! Take a moment to thank God for everything He does for us!
