Thought this was pretty well written. It talks about saying no - TopicsExpress

Thought this was pretty well written. It talks about saying no within an organization, but can be applied anywhere. Do you really want to be known as a yes-man/woman? In other words, someone that lets everyone else create and dictate your goals and what youre trying to accomplish? Or, worse yet, a brown nose? A popularity whore? No. You dont. Besides, saying NO every once in awhile does you good. Mentally and physically. 1. Choose YOUR priorities. 2. Make sure saying YES helps both you and the other person/organization. That you both can be the most effective by it. 3. Dont feel obligated. And dont make anyone wait if you really dont want to (that includes answering people via SM, invites, etc) - its just rude. If you dont want to attend something. Dont attend. If you really dont have time to give 100%, dont do it. Or offer another alternative. Be you. Do you. And thats the best for everyone and those things youre passionate about. Everyone benefits in the long run.
