This is Chris Johnson, your former student from the class of 2005 at Pequot Lakes. I just wanted to write to you and say thank you for everything you did for me while I was growing up; whether you knew you were doing it or not. I’ve always really admired/looked up to you because of your hard-working mentality and passion for physical fitness. I don’t know if you were aware of it or not, but I competed on last season of the TV show American Ninja Warrior, and applied again for the upcoming season. I cut 40 pounds of weight and got in incredible shape to compete on this program. I always think back to the days I had you for P.E. and did your best to instill a love for being in great shape and doing incredible things with your body. You also had a “no-excuses” approach that lives on with me today. Aside from teaching middle school math, I am a group exercise instructor at Bring It! Studios in Chanhassen, MN for the Insanity program, as well as two of my own classes (Circuit, which is basically high-intensity station work; and CRUNCH, which is a class devoted to strengthening the core). It’s so much fun to help people achieve their fitness goals and, to this day, I don’t think I’d be doing this if it wasn’t for you.
