Thought-when you see someone acting ugly, assume they are having a rough time in life...Weve all been there--either truly misplacing aggression or just preoccupied with life and coming off as ugly. I brought this up to a friend, whom i will name Speed Massenburg who told me of 2 instances, while boating where people came off as ugly and others reacted in kind--the first time, people were waiting to put their boats in and elderly couple just went ahead--people got mean, he diffused the situation in a wonderful way to the point that the lady who was being ugliest looked at him and said, You just took all my meanness away! and the other time, same situation, someone was hurt and had to get out fast....I find personally that if i look at the person and think maybe they just found out they have cancer or alzheimers or their loved one is dying or merely because theyre old it makes me feel better about ME and takes away all the animosity and i want to be nice to them...so i guess, be nice to ugly people is moral of this story...just try it once in awhile--it will bring down your own level of ugliness..
