Thoughts: Alzheimers is a terrible disease and has taken my grandfather mentally and as hard as it is for me to say that is the truth....but around the right people my old grandfather sneaks out and says hello and he does little things that he used to do before the disease took over...despite my ups and downs and my flaws he has loved me unconditionally and has never judged me and ill always love him for that...i think this family gathering over the thanksgiving has brought closure to my grandfather and certain people reading this will know what i mean....id say it was probably one of the hardest to say good bye to him yesterday know it might have been the last time i could possibly see him... Gwen Madden Bratton has probably been the biggest help with my grandma dealing with my grandfather and i admire and love her very much for that...through all of this the only concern my grandfather has was not passing....but what will happen to my grandmother when he is gone...I wish i was half the man my grandfather was and still is even with this disease...please dont take your family for granted i know i sure as well havent and never will....
