Thoughts? Comments ? Does this put more pressure on you doing the job? Yes or No?? The System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI)[1] is commonly used as a reliability indicator by electric power utilities. SAIDI is the average outage duration for each customer served, and is calculated as: SAIDI = Sum of all customer interruption durations / Total number of customers supplied SAIDI is measured in units of time, often minutes or hours. It is usually measured over the course of a year. From 2004-2010, distribution prices were regulated by a threshold set by the Commerce Commission. In 2010, this was replaced by the Default Price-Quality Path (DPP). Under the DPP, lines companies can only increase their prices each year by CPI, with an adjustment for a limited number of costs that can be passed through to electricity customers. Lines Companies must also meet two reliability targets - SAIDI and SAIFI. SAIDI measures how many minutes any consumer on the Network, on average, is without electricity supply during the year. SAIFI measures how often an average consumer will experience electricity interruptions during the year.
