Thoughts for 2015. Australia has enough peace, opportunity, - TopicsExpress

Thoughts for 2015. Australia has enough peace, opportunity, diversity, resources, space, beauty, science, hygeine and civil and human rights that everyone of us should easily be able to have a decent life, hope, safety, opportunity, community. And very many of us still do have time and opportunity to make a difference to the burgeoning indigenous , youth and rural suicide rates, to contribute by letters to local ministers ( they all have email) to start petitions ( theyre free online, try AVAAZ) , to hang up a sign on your house, to share with your friends, to volunteer or raise money for the homeless, abused, and refugees, for wilderness, for revegetation and clean energy, for sensible compassionate inspirational leadership that solves problems with justice for all instead of the rich get richer and the rest of us be damned. We have our voices still, and if we dont use them, if we dont participate, if we dont contribute, we will lose more and more of the freedoms we enjoy, and some we didnt even know we had. Its our country! Each one born here and all who commit to her best interests, we are all responsible for guiding this ship, our great Southern Ark. It is a majestic and ancient and unique history. We cant afford to waste one bit, and all our effort is needed to turn this mass global extinction event around, we can make the best comeback in history, we can acknowledge and respect Aboriginal sovereignty, why not? Most want peaceful coexistance, lets make it. We can welcome and support our own homeless, abused, traumatised, disabled, sick, and refugees, with the compassion they deserve, spending the aid and stimulating economy here instead of overseas where influxes are creating massive problems and the refugees arent safe. If we cant look after these, we dont deserve our freedoms and certainly cannot call ourselves a decent or civilised country, without compassion its just dog eat dog and degeneration. All the money put into these flows back into the economy in goods and services, directly benefiting Australians. If we elect govt who put Australian companies first and stops undercutting and sabotaging us with cheap imports. If we have strong leadership who enforces just rule, such as mining and corporations no tax breaks when massively in profit, independant auditing, every cent of public money spending accountable and transparent. Same rules for all whoever we are. If we have govt dedicated to properly protecting family busness, family farming, bank policy. We are our country......everyone of us. We all make it, each one. Very much love and hope for the many tragedies in this country to become the beacons that guide us to safer shores, for compassion and understanding of what works long term, if we have long term; for the beleagured people, the families and the communities who are the bedrock of our culture and and in whom is our true prosperity. To those unable to celebrate at this time, for loss and grief and anger, of whom there are far too many for any leader to be congratulating themselves, I give you my heart, and my committment to learn as best I can, and do whatever I can to relieve your suffering. In Hawaii they say Ohana, family, meaning noone gets left behind. ♡
