Thoughts for Today: The odds are not what matters in the battle of life. God is on the throne!! What matters is what you have done with His revelation of Himself to you. Are you His, or are you trying to ARRANGE life around yourself to go according to your way and refusing to listen to Him? You cant out wit God. If God says something will happen, it will happen, and if you try to change, or manipulate to prevent it, - you will fail! 1 Kings 22:30-31,34 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, I will enter the battle in disguise, but you wear your royal robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself and went into battle. Now the king of Aram had ordered his thirty-two chariot commanders, Do not fight with anyone, small or great, except the king of Israel. .....But someone drew his bow at random and hit the king of Israel between the sections of his armor. The king told his chariot driver, Wheel around and get me out of the fighting. Ive been wounded. WOW even incognito and off mans radar, the king of Israel was GODS NOT HIDDEN FROM GIDS PLAN BUT WAS GODS TARGET! A Good king - Jehoshaphat - must have been awfully naïve or under some kind of stupid spell to want to help the evil Ahab. The prophet of God warned them, and they still went into battle. Why in the world would good king Jehoshaphat wear royal robes and BECOME A TARGET while he let evil Ahab hide in regular soldier clothes? The forces of Aram were ordered to attack Jehoshaphat and he saw them coming for him and ran to safety. God allowed him to escape even though he was doing something wrong in the eyes of God. But it was Ahab that has had all his chances!! It was Gods time to finish evil Ahabs reign. A stray arrow found its way between the plates of his armor, and he bled to death in his chariot. The chariot was washed out in Samaria, and the dogs lick up the blood, as was prophesied. So the lessen= Why be a trickster and always live in trying to outwit others???? Your either given something from God or your not. Excercise more SELF-control vs. controlling things outside yourself or others. Simply: dont be a busybody in others affairs, or a gossip, or be manipulative and controlling. GOD IS ABLE TO GIVE YOU MUCH MORE THAN THIS! I observe too many using The Sword (of their mouths) in battle to drive things in a direction - RATHER THAN GODS WORD OF LIFE. REMEMBER: No one was doing Gods work or of service to Him by killing off Jesus! They believed they were! Final outcome was - what God prophesied about a promised Redeemer. Not even death could hold HIM down!
