It occurs to me there has only ever been one Christian, and, true or not, the story goes that he was crucified. His followers have since made, unmade and remade his ideal in their own image. So many times infact that I doubt there is anything left of the original. And, it strikes me as ironic that the above quote by Nietzche, an atheist, is particularly applicable to the legend of this dead Palistinian. The god no longer owns itself. It has been overwhelmed by the tribe. It paid the ultimate price to have its message fall not only on deaf ears, but upon indifferent ears for whom the message was not good enough.
