Thoughts for this morning... I have been asked about having more training times. I would rather emphasize getting in better training in the time we already take. What is better training? The answer to that is, 1-- Come to training to find out. 2-- Take the time in your own day to build the body to receive and flourish from the training. (It is your only true possession) 3-- Take the time to rest and pursue the matters of the heart. (Take care of why you train) 4-- Take the time to work well at your profession so you may feed and house your family and fuel your training... It is all training to support your training. More training is possible only when you realize this. You are always training. The key point being Ganbatte or Keep going... Per Masamitsu Toda- 1. To know that patience comes first. 2. To know that the path of mankind comes from justice. 3. To renounce greed, laziness, and obstinacy. 4. To recognize sadness, worry, and resentment as natural and to seek the immovable heart (fudoshin). 5. To not stray from the path of loyalty and brotherly love and to delve always deeper into the heart of budo pursuing the ways of both the literary and martial arts with balanced determination. More mat time... is time away from other important things to my training. Is it possible? Yes. Is it what I need? Maybe. Ask yourself what would your own training look like tomorrow if I were suddenly not here? I would have to say it would look something like how you trained yesterday, and today. How does that training look to you? Kind of a ramble. Some thoughts that have been in my craw... See you on the mats at 10am at Anderson River Park!
