Thoughts from Chief Sjolander... Home is where you hang your heart... The older I get, the more I realize how important home and heart are and how both can have a lot in common. My home is older, its not fancy, its filled with memories, dents, and dings...just like my heart. Its seen me at my best, my worst, and its not for sale. Ive invited people into my home and my heart plenty of times. Some have treated both well, and some not so much. Im ok with both because Ive learned a lot about them, myself, and my heart...like its amazing healing power. I know now blessed I am to have a nice home and a nice heart. I know plenty of people that dont have either for a variety of reasons. Some could be because they dont know how to take care of them, are scared of how much work both can be, have lost both due to the actions of others, or dont feel they are worthy. The last one breaks my heart the most because I truly believe we are all worthy. Ive seen plenty of homes that on the outside look amazing, but once youre inside, theyre empty...just like some hearts. Ive also seen some homes that on the outside dont look like much, but once youre inside, you see love, understanding, forgiveness and grace. These are my favorites. So look around where you call home is it a mirror image of your heart. Does it need some upkeep, is it inviting to others, and can it weather some storms... I hope so. Today is a great day to open your home and your heart to others, or maybe start repairing both so you can open them up to others in need. No one should be homeless...or heartless. Stay safe, Lee
