Thoughts from Chief Sjolander... What if... What if we stopped talking about people, and started listening... What if we treated people the way we wanted to be treated... What if kindness was as contagious as hatred... What if we just let it go, and moved on... What if we realized that we are beautiful, just the way we are... What if we stopped judging, and started loving... What if we stopped making fun of people, and started making fun with people... What if we smiled more, and frowned less... What if we laughed more, and cried less... What if we forgave ourselves, and others... What if we loved others like our pets love us... What if you realized your neighbors have no heat in their home and are boiling water for baths, are all sleeping in one room by a space heater and are on their last loaf of bread and stick of butter, would you feel bad about the comments you made about their shabby clothes? Or do they deserve it... Remember...We all have struggles. We dont know what someone else is going through and we owe it to ourselves and others to keep open minds and open hearts. I will be stopping at the office in awhile and posting some pictures of furniture, shoes, and warm jackets...all these items are free and just need to be picked up, thats it...No judging, no bad comments, just a police department and its citizens doing the right thing for people...Thats what its all about.
