Thoughts from China- With the holidays approaching, I am feeling a bit of homesickness. I have never been happy with the commercialization of Christmas and seeing the decorations before Thanksgiving. I have always liked getting together with friends and family never the less. I have not heard the words Christmas or Thanksgiving this year at all. I dont like this either. There has to be a in between somewhere. We are having a Thanksgiving dinner paid for by the school for us expats. Chicken instead of turkey, no stuffing (my favorite part of the meal), and no pumkin pie. I usually make the pumkin pies using my mothers recipe. I think it is finally sinking in that I am here until next July or August. I was back in the USA for a week in October to complete my work visa after being here for two months, but now I am here for a while. Today with the holidays in the near future, August seems a loooong time away.
