Thoughts from... Chronicling my time in Colombia was therapeutic for me. Every morning I would get up early, slurp back my coffee and get my thoughts together. It became my daily routine. I have kind of missed doing that. Im not so sure how often Ill post (or if anyone will keep reading)...I am sure that my posts will become more boring as life in NWA will hopefully be a bit less dramatic than in Bogota. Although something tells me that may not be the case! 😉 All that to say, Ill probably still post now and then...if nothing else, its a good way for me to document our journey together as a family. We are home, but we are just now beginning to navigate real life together as a unit of four. So many have been asking how everyone has been handling the transition home so far. And honestly, it has gone far better than I could have ever hoped for. We are experiencing lots of firsts right now. Luis rode in a car seat for the first time when we came home from the airport. He took his first bath in a bath tub this weekend. He is experiencing 90 degree heat for the first time. Poor brother is a sweating machine. Constantly. All the time. So much sweat. Luis is feeling very insecure of his surroundings. At times he will look around and start to cry as if though he is lost. He is absolutely terrified of our dogs. Sometimes he just seems scared. While this may seem like a bad thing, its giving us countless opportunities to soothe him. We are able to connect to him and remind him we are his constant, regardless of his environment. Through all of that, we are bonding more and more. And thats a beautiful thing. Yall have been so amazing. We honestly have the greatest friends. Nothing says I love you like food. Thank you SO much to our friends who are bringing us meals and gift cards. Yall are saints. For real. This week we plan on laying low. My big goal for the week is to get Luis adjusted to a car seat soon so we can hit up Sonic during Happy Hour. Priorities, people. Priorities. Have a Happy Monday!!
