Thoughts from my journal # 25 African Roots. I have visited Africa on five Ministry trips. The responsibility was given to me to invite Pastors to make all expenses paid Ministry Trips to Africa. This was a interdenominational movement source financially from Nigeria. Nazarene Ministers from Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Windward Islands and Barbados were among Ministers from around the world making these trips on a yearly basis. Some Nazarene Ministers from other countries were unavailable. These services were long and Powerful, none were under four hours. It was a different experience the hospitality was superb, the ministry of the Word was soul searching, prayers were twenty four hours daily. Gods presence was awesome. I have never been driven at such death speeds before 125 mph was normal, mere reflection cause me some discomfort. However,I was bowled over by an event that demonstrated the power of our African roots. There is a guy that attended school with me for many years, live in my community, played cricket together,so I must know him well. Jones is his name, three days into the conference I saw Jones,or so I thought ! feeling a bit embarrass I enquired what time he reach the Conference and to which group he was attached. He looked at me with a puzzle face, I became convince he was displeased at my apparent lack of interaction with an old school mate who knew each other well. I felt badly and poked him repeatedly for a response I am glad I did!. I knew it was not Jones after he opened his mouth, perhaps, not the Jones I knew. Some weeks later I saw Jones and explain the story to him, I told him if the guy had not opened his mouth in Africa I would have difficulty approaching him fearing he was still angry at me. Our African roots are real consider making a trip. My friend Lealand introduce me to the movement and I became coordinator for the Caribbean these missions are no longer active. My journal is not some ostensible display; it is my way of Openly thanking God for the manner He has directed my life over the years knowing these we were not my plans neither were they orchestrated by any influence of mine. To God be the glory. It is so remarkable that it has started all over again. I am a witness of what happens when a good seed is sowed; a forest is given in return. These thoughts were penned from 36.000ft as I witness the Heavens declaring the glory of God.
