Thoughts go out to the persons family whos loved one was pronounced dead in Byron Crescent yesterday. Today Bedfordshire Police & the victims family need some help from the local community..Copied & pasted the following from Bedfordshire police fb page... Operation Dianthus: Have YOU Seen Discarded Knife? DETECTIVES investigating the death of a man in Bedford this afternoon (Monday 26 January) say he suffered from stab injuries. Now officers are appealing to residents in Byron Crescent and neighbouring streets to contact them immediately if they find a knife or other sharp object discarded in their gardens, wheelie bins or elsewhere. Residents in Shakespeare Road may be of particular help. They are advised not to touch anything they find but to immediately contact police. Meanwhile a man is his 40s, who was arrested on suspicion of murder early this evening, continues to be interviewed at Kempston custody suite. Officers were called to an address in Byron Crescent at around 4.30pm after man in his 30s was taken to an ambulance but later died. The area was taped off for a full forensic investigation and the victim, who has not yet been named, was taken to Bedford Hospital south wing. A post-mortem will be held in due course and it is only then that police will know exact cause of death. An investigation, called Operation Dianthus, was launched by the Beds, Cambs and Herts Major Crime Unit and later a man was arrested and taken to Kempston custody suite where he is still being questioned by officers. Detectives are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact them, in confidence, on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
