Thoughts on a day. I am feeling more like the real me. Not the one who has been told to shut up or has had his words ignored then yelled at bc of not following sage advice. This event on Thursday has been all about collaboration with people of many different arenas. A phone call or a request on social media have given us more for our beneficiary not just a singular source who lack enthusiasm or commitment to the community. People have opened their hearts, schedules and contact lists and I truly, especially with a few of those that Ive known for a long time, warms the heart. Ive asked a few folks that Ive wanted to work with for a long time and no one said no. The old partner in crime on these missions has selected some amazing new people who have been nothing but a joy to share the vision with and speak to. They can answer how can we make this bigger not have a mentality of let me just walk in and stand there. I am very excited about breaking a few rules, seeing a few old friends and having a time where we are truly celebrating the spirit of Christmas and the holiday season (no matter what u may believe in) and give to those in need. I sit here in awe making the phone calls, opening my email for the first time in the last few years bc of the joy of collaboration. I look at the donation basket in the corner and am blown away by what picking up a phone can do. THIS is what I have been saying all along that had fallen on deaf ears save a very select few. To those who gave, will give and will promote to ensure we send kids to camp, provide services and maybe even clothe them I sincerely thank you. To those who will be the faces of this event and be a part of it speaking with the crowd I am honored by each of you who said yes. To that special friend who because of accident or on purpose that I get to see next week for the first time in years I cannot wait to hear your potty mouth and get a hug. On to next week! To three people who gave me countless encouragement I have two words Im back! you know who you are!
