Thoughts on the DLC... In a time not so long ago.... DLCs were released to prolong the life of a game. They ushered in new game modes, content story arcs and characters. Recently though companies have come to the conclusion DLCs are the perfect way to rip off the gamer. Now instead of new content they hide original content from the release then a few weeks later announce an All new DLC. Destiny is the perfect example of this. The glitch that allowed a player to see all of the missions that are contained in the new DLC is a prime example. This is content that should have been in the original game that was cut to make money from the players. Look at the main flaw of Destiny. The game is great up to lvl 20 then after that it is repetitious with the same missions having to played over and over again in the hope the slim chance you get a drop that helps you progress in Light. Now we know why the game is so disjointed. Lvl 20 + content was cut from the release it wasnt designed A to be this hard or B be this boring after 20. Do i want the DLC? Yeah i like Destiny as a game and the close fireteam missions with different classes really bring something new to an old genre. Am i willing to pay £35 for content that should have been in the game all the while? No. From the looks of it, its what 1/2 Strikes, 1/2 Raids and 2 story missions for practically the cost a new game that is way to steep in my opinion. If it was cheaper would i buy? Sure. If it was larger more expansive? Def purchase. The greatest successful DLC release on a console should have been the blueprint for all others. The Game? Red Dead Redemption. The DLC? Undead Nightmare. It brought a huge alternative story arc and new exciting multiplayer modes. It didnt just expand on the original it blew it wide open and did so at a fraction of the cost of the original game. It revitalised the original game bringing in new players and returning old players.
