Thousands of miles from home I make sure we have books and films that portray what Texans do at different times of the year. We watch Charlie Brown every holiday and try to record things associated with the typical lifestyle the kids eventually will have to learn again. Its so funny to hear Brandon describing American Football to the kids as they watch a recorded game. All of this will help them adapt one day. We discuss how hunting season has started and what family is doing at this moment. But we also have to remember they are Brats and they dont have to be exactly like their native people. Who they are is a people without a land, but they still will belong to a group and this group can have a reunion any where in the world and if they are together then for a short moment they are truly home.
