Three Taliban insurgents attacked a foreign organization office in Kart-e Se locality of Kabul killing two of the organizations staff, late Saturday afternoon, according to Gen. Ayoub Salangi, the Deputy Interior Minister for Security Affairs. After more than four hours of cross-fire, all three Taliban militants were killed, two staff members of the foreign organization were also killed and six others were rescued, Gen. Salangi adds. According to reports, the foreign organization that was under attack was a South African organization by the name of PATH. Several heavy explosions reportedly took place at the scene with gunfire exchanges between security forces and militants, according to TOLOnews reporter. Alongside Gen. Salangi, Kabul Police Chief Gen. Zahir Zahir, and other high-ranking security officials were at the scene. In an exclusive interview with TOLOnews, Gen. Zahir said the area was cordoned off by security forces to maintain the situation. Clearing operation is currently underway. The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
