Three Things Affecting me from a Wonderful Birthday Yesterday and All Your Good Wishes woke up with some thoughts, a quote, and a song in my head - 1. The thought is that the internet in its best and highest use is a place where people get to show they care about not only their friends, but about people whom they never have met, and likely never will. Thus, is some sense, as our kind words spread, love grows and grows. Thank you for your birthday messages! 2. There is a beautiful passage in Lewis Hydes book The Gift. Its taken from Pablo Neruda, I have been a lucky man. To feel the intimacy of brothers is a marvelous thing in life. To feel the love of people whom we love is a fire that feeds our life. But to feel the affection that comes from those whom we do not know, from those unknown to us, who are watching over our sleep and solitude, over our dangers and our weaknesses - that is something still greater and more beautiful because it widens out the boundaries of our being, and unites all living things. 3. Finally from the great John Lennon (its so devotional it sounds like it could have been George Harrison), the song that keeps coming up from my unconscious every day these days.
