Three day count-down to a Sugar-Free September! To kick us off, my friend Kari offers this suggestion: When we did this last year, we found it helpful to have lots of other kinds of snacks (savory and salty - like raw almonds we could toast ourselves or grainy crackers and goat cheese or popcorn) handy in the pantry for when a crazy sugar craving hit. Maybe this weekend is a good time to stock up on those, too! Trader Joes has a large aisle devoted to nuts & better than sugar snacks. What is your go-to savory snack? For example, when I have a sugar-craving, I cut up an apple into bite sized pieces, put it in a dessert bowl & sprinkle cinnamon on it. Sweet, crunchy, a little spicy and definitely better than a refined sugar dessert.
