Three-day staff inservice begins Tuesday (Meade School District-Kris Hubbard) Meade School District preschool staff inservice, which heralds the beginning of the new school year, will be held Tuesday through Thursday, Aug. 19-21. The first day begins at the Sturgis Community Center with refreshments and exhibits prior to the 8 a.m. kickoff. Opening ceremonies include the Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem followed by greetings from Superintendent Don Kirkegaard and Meade School Board President Bob Burns. The school board members, administrators and new teachers will be introduced after which the superintendent will address the staff. The remainder of the first day is dedicated to school-level meetings. Activities for day two will take place at each individual school. New K-5 teachers will receive instruction in the new math Investigations curriculum. For the final day of inservice, all staff will be in their classrooms planning and preparing for the new school year.
