Three different high school shootings today. Fortunately no mass - TopicsExpress

Three different high school shootings today. Fortunately no mass casualties, unfortunately there were some casualties and some injuries. 2 points to be made here. 1. Maybe states like Kentucky should quit spending MILLIONS on standardized tests and technology to track observations and start spending money to get actual social workers into all of our schools. Kids are hurting for a variety of reasons and continued high stakes and high stress testing when they are not developmentally ready is only going to hurt them more because it further separates them - college and career ready vs not. There is nothing healthy or beneficial to it. Social workers MIGHT be able to prevent some of these shootings. 2. Teachers and school workers dont get paid enough nor do they get the respect they deserve Oh yeah, I guess three points. 3. Guns are too easy to get. Somebody fact check me, but i think there are now more guns in America than there are Americans. And, for the record, no good guy with a gun could have stopped these senseless acts.
