Three good things about yesterday: 1. Getting involved in the kick-start of two great projects – the PwC run4fun participation to the Bucharest International Marathon and Campioni in Business, a project aiming to award and connect Romania’s best entrepreneurs. The Partner who is sponsoring the running club surprised everyone when he said he enrolled for this year’s edition of the Berlin Marathon, due to take place just one weekend ahead of the Bucharest event. How cool is that! For the second project, another surprise. At the PR pitch I bumped into Andreea. Small corporate world :) 2. Remember my Jewish history professor? Yesterday he linked the cognitive revolution that took place 70,000 years ago to the Homo sapiens language abilities. He says that Homo sapiens mastery of the language made them rule the world. Not fire, nor the invention of tools (things that other human species also knew), but the ability to express complex ideas, the pleasures of storytelling to teach group members and gossiping, in order to build strong social bonds. So I guess it is true after all that In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 3. Another great invention was cooking – that made possible eating more vegetables, roasting meat to make it safer to consume by killing germs, shortened the time spent for chewing and digesting, therefore saving more energy for our brains, that burns 25% of the energy we consume daily, and requiring less energy for maintaining a long digestive tract or powerful muscles. I celebrated this (re)discovery by cooking myself a large Lebanese dinner. The falafel was too soft (too much water used), the wheat in the tabbouleh too hard, and the humus tasted too canned, but the overall taste was pretty good and we washed dinner up with a generous amount of red Romanian wine (too young), which made us in the mood for silly Romanian sitcoms. And it was this way that I discovered Vania, a guy who is almost too good to be true. As I was saying, Adinel, would you please share with us three good things that happen to you every day for one week?
