Three homeless people and a puppy are uninjured but have lost all their possessions after a discarded lit cigarette started a small fire on the north side of Redlands Blvd. near Tennessee. After burning about 1/4 acre, wind and extremely low humidity created conditions where the fire was able to jump to the south side of the boulevard and burn another 1/2 acre of grass. Three engine crews and 12 firefighters contained the fire after about 5 minutes. Redlands Fire stresses that fire danger is real, especially in these conditions of wind and extremely low humidity. BE FIRE SAFE.
