Three kinds of planetary longitudes, in their merit order, are here: Geocentric: This position of any celestial body is obtained with reference to the center of our earth. Topocentric: Is the longitude as observed from any specific location at earth? The topocentric position is generally used with reference to lagna or other local elements, viz., sunrise, moonrise, combustion of planets, etc. in no way to planetary longitudes. It would be of interest of our readers that the longitude obtained from any specified location on the earth’s surface may differ (maximum possible) from that of the center of earth as follows: 9’’ (Vikala) arc seconds for Sun, 1’(kala) minute for other planets, 1°2’ for moon. next- Heliocentric
