Three of Swiss supported agriculture projects namely Hill Maize Research Project, Sustainable Soil Management Project and Vegetable Seed Project, are phasing out on 31st December 2014 after 15 years of implementation in Nepal. To celebrate the achievements on fostering economic wellbeing and the food security of women and small holder farmers in Nepal, a joint workshop and exhibition was organised on 18th December. The project made significant achievement, in close collaboration with the Government of Nepal, in the areas of sustainable management of soil and other natural resources; varietal development and release of maize and vegetable and in building sustainable seed system in Nepal. The programme was inaugurated by the Secretary from Ministry of Agriculture and Development. The learnings from these projects will be integrated in the new Agriculture Programme being developed by SDC.
