Three of the most intelligent species on Earth: elephants, dolphins, and humans. Each of these has been discovered to ingest some kind of psychoactive substance. What a psychoactive substance does, is it makes one think outside the range of ones mechanical biology. That is to say, that it enables one to colour outside the lines of what we consider to be average nature. Think about why people like to drink. Maybe think about why you like to drink with other people. Its because we enjoy being and sharing in the altered state that is outside of plain old predictable animal insinct. Consider the stereotypical sloshed drunk dude that does something dumb and dangerous, you know, just for the lols. Sure it seems stupid, (and it probably is,) but there is another side to this cognitive coin. In a sense, coming from the perspective of the animal kingdom, to act in this way is pure genius. It is pure genius, because it is impossible for an animal to behave this way under conventional darwinistic laws, where a species would never endanger itself without a good reason, especially like for the sake of some cheap thrill. Im losing my train of thought here, so ill just leave it to this legend to explain it all better. Basically, humans are the result of permatripping our species so far out that it actually created an entirely new evolutionary path. Terence McKennas birthday passed shortly ago, so ive been conteplating and reflecting on many of his speeches lately. Very awesome person. You can just tell hes a nice dude.
