Three solid days of metal detecting. Friday in Jefferson City netted slim pickings in clad dimes and one wheat. Saturday in the otterville area at the old fort only gave up the tip of a knife, a small piece of copper, and a percussion cap from maybe a 2 lb cannon. Sunday we stopped at a location near Syracuse and 10 minutes into the hunt the ground gave me an Enfield round and within another 10 minutes a 69 ball. Left and went back to the Otterville fort and my best find is an Eagle button. My most unusual find is the working end of a toothbrush carved out of bone that was in another hole I dug that yielded iron plate all crumbled. And a horseshoe nail and a large square nail or small spike
