Three teens charged with Robbery – Eastwood Police will allege that about 4:40pm on Saturday 18 October 2014, a 15 year old teenager from Belmont has entered a Café in Rowe Street at Eastwood via the rear entrance. The young person has entered a lower level of the café and taken a lap top computer, secreting in under his T shirt. The young person has then left the café. About 4:55pm on the same date, a 13 year old teenager from Belmont South who was in company with the 15 year old from Belmont and a 16 year old from Hamlyn Terrace, were walking along Rowe lane. The 13 year old teen has run towards a 67 year old woman and grabbed her handbag out of her hand. He has continued to run along Rowe lane with the other two teens before they ran and hid in a unit complex in Ethel Street. It is alleged that the three teens rummaged through the victims purse taking a sum of cash before discarding the handbag. About 5:30pm, police located the three teens waiting to board a north bound train at Eastwood Railway Station. The woman’s handbag and contents were located by Police along with the sum of cash the teens had taken from the victim’s purse. The lap top computer was also located by Police in the back pack of the 15 year old. All three were arrested and taken to Ryde Police Station. While in custody the 13 year old and 16 year old teens took a blanket and ripped it in half. They also continued to spit in the police dock and swear at police while waiting to be processed. The 15 year old teen from Belmont was charged with Larceny and Steal from Person. He was bail refused and is due to appear in Parramatta Children’s Court on 1 December 2014. The 13 year old teen from Belmont South was charged with Steal from Person, Goods in custody and Malicious damage. He was bail refused to appear in Parramatta Children’s Court on 3 November 2014. The 16 year old teen from Hamlyn Terrace was charged with Steal from person and Malicious damage. He was given conditional bail to appear before Parramatta Children’s Court on 1 December 2014.
