Three things I learned not to do when I was a boy, and oddly - TopicsExpress

Three things I learned not to do when I was a boy, and oddly enough, all of them happened in my bedroom. I was home and lying on my bed with a cold bottle of pop in my hand. I adjusted the crooked shade on the light hanging on the wall above my bed. I really liked that light...the part against the wall was wood and was a replica of the steering wheel on an old ship. The shade had little red sailing ships on it. I wondered what would happen if I poured cold root beer on the bulb which was on. There was a loud pop and the room went dark. Ceiling light showed glass slivers all over the bed. Another time, I took an old mantle clock apart. It was given to me because it quit ticking...maybe I could fix it. I got a screwdriver and began to take the rear plate off of the works. When last screw removed, I pulled the plate off and there was an explosion of wheels of all sizes...I did not know it was wound up tight, The last was when I became fascinated with my Zenith table model radio. I tried to take the works out of the case and stuck a screwdriver under the works and pried up. I saw a flash of light in my eyes and was knocked several feet away. Curiosity killed more than cats, it seemed.
