Three years ago I met this (almost a bit shy) man and his camera, he asked if he could take some pictures of me and I did not say no. When I received those photos I was gladly surprised. This man has quite a lot of talent and a whole own way to look at photos I had not seen before. Before we started shooting more together he asked me about my opinion on Steampunk and the character Constance, what I find important and less important in the world that revolves around steampunk. At first I thought it was a bit odd, no other photographer was as interested in my point of view. But I answered all of his questions and we started to discuss steampunk, the meaning of life, our pasts, presents and futures and we grew closer and closer. Now, more than 3 years later Ruud de Korte has grown to be one of my greatest friends, and besides that the (dare I say it? Yes I dare!) best Steampunk photographer in the Netherlands, and quite possibly, Europe and beyond. Today he has released his first book, and I can tell you that its a powerful beauty! It contains 52 pages of wondrous images of Steampunks from Scotland, Germany, England, Poland and The Netherlands and can be bought as a PDF or Hardcover book. -Thank you Ruud, for the past years and those to come!
