Three years ago today I lost one of my best friends, my Mom. While trolling on the internet I found one of her famous Letters to the Editor she often wrote to the Amarillo Globe News. Mom always spoke her mind regardless, which was one of her best attributes. Rest easy Chief and thank you for everything! MS GIs should forget being PC in IZ I would like to thank Gary Choate for his Nov. 10 letter concerning the media. If we had less media in Iraq, our troops could fight a military war and not a politically correct war, and this conflict would be much closer to being over by now. I have a son and a daughter-in-law deployed at this time, and I only pray that the worry that some reporter is looking over their shoulder to see if they are fighting correctly does not cost them their lives or the lives of any of our brave troops. I thank all our brave men and women who are doing their job to give the people of Afghanistan and Iraq the chance to enjoy the freedom that we take for granted. Beverly Schleich Amarillo
