Three years ago today the last living sister of my mother had died. My last time I was with her was on a mountain in LA that overlooked the city as we danced on that mountain. It was after she died. The last time before that, that I danced with her was in her kitchen as she sat crowned with a ribbon from a Sundancers tree from Rosebud South Dakota. In her hands a bundle of sage. She was the family matriarch at the time.
