And were just getting started :) ICYMI, a letter sent out to our community about this exciting partnership: // Today, we’re excited to announce that Airbnb is partnering with New York Road Runners and will be a sponsor of the TCS New York City Marathon. The Marathon is a celebration of athletes’ accomplishments and a world famous event, but if you’ve ever been there, you know it’s more than just a race. For hundreds of years, New York City has welcomed millions of new Americans to our shores and told them they can belong in a new place. Today, over 100 million Americans can trace their ancestry back to an arrival in New York City. The Marathon celebrates this amazing history by uniting 50,000 elite and recreational competitors and two million spectators from more than 100 countries and giving runners from around the world the chance to explore all five boroughs of this iconic city. Bringing people together and helping travelers belong anywhere they go is what the Airbnb community is all about, and we know Airbnb hosts will open their doors and welcome runners who can’t wait to have an authentic New York experience during this incredible event. This is the first time we’ve officially partnered with New York Road Runners, but our community has participated in the race since Airbnb got started. Last year, more than 10,000 visitors used Airbnb to live like a New Yorker during Marathon weekend and 25 percent of their listings were within walking distance of the course. We’ve got big plans for the week preceding the Marathon and race day, and we will have more details about the five-star hospitality we will be providing and ways you can participate in the weeks and months ahead.
