Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (Heb 11:3) FAITH GIVES US UNDERSTANDING UNDERSTANDING -KNOWLEDGE OR ABILITY, So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Rom 10:17) FAITH COMES BY HEARING THE WORD OF GOD hearing - the opportunity to believe or reject something When we hear the word of God preach and believe it , it becomes our faith , or the basis of our belief example: Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee. Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou. And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day. (Deu 5:12-15) Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you. (Exo 31:13) Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God. (Exo 31:16-18) It is my belief that the sabbath is for the Jews only, because of what is said in the verse above. I am not debtor to obey the sabbath, because I am not a Jew. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. (Gal 5:3) But if I want to be circumcised, then I am a debtor to do or obey the whole law. Act 15:24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment: Act 15:25 It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, Act 15:26 Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Act 15:27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth. Act 15:28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; Act 15:29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well. As a gentile believer in Christ, the apostles burden (rule) given to us is to abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication from which if we keep ourselves, were doing well , thats what the apostles said. and thats what I believed
