Throughout his epic journey, spanning nearly three decades, he has produced a remarkable list of career accomplishments including; multiple number one singles, top selling albums, CMA, ACM, IBMA, and Grammy Awards, along with scores of other accolades. Collectively, his contributions to the recording industry have sold well into the millions and he has performed literally thousands of live concerts at four corners of the earth. Known primarily for his role as the lead singer of the band Shenandoah, Marty Raybon recorded his first solo album, Marty Raybon, in 1995 on Sparrow Records. After leaving Shenandoah in 1996, he and his brother Tim formed a duo known as the Raybon Brothers, which had crossover success in 1997 with the hit single Butterfly Kisses. A second self-titled album was released in 2000, followed by 2003s Full Circle. 2006 saw the release of When the Sand Runs Out, which included the single Shenandoah Saturday Night, a song whose lyrics referenced the titles of Shenandoahs hit singles, and Marty continues to work even today. Josh Turner had this to say about Raybon, Marty is one of the best soul singers in music. He gets inside a song and turns it inside out. When you listen to him sing, he makes every word sound important and makes you feel as though he is singing straight to you. I love everything hes done. Hes a great singer, a great artist, and a great man. The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. Marty is without doubt a man of integrity, honesty and honor, but above all the Marty Raybon that Ive come to know, is because of his testimony---a Christian. I remember the first night I met him, he gave his testimony to the crowd that had gathered to hear him and others at a Foster & Friends event. After the show that night, as I introduced myself and got an autograph, I said to him, Sir I really appreciate what you did up there giving your testimony and all, its got to be hard being a christian in this industry, he looked and me and smiled, then replied with conviction in his voice---No, its not!!!! Since that night Ive done extensive research on Marty and youll look long and hard to find a better man. A few months ago, Marty and The Gang known as Shenandoah reunited and are back doing their thing, I for one am excited for what theyre bringing to the world of music. Happy Birthday Marty, thank you for all the hits youve given us, but most of all thank you for being a beacon to a world of darkness and encouraging others to start Working On The Building. Word has it that Marty Raybon will try anything once, twice if he likes it, not to be out done hes currently enrolled in dance classes, I ask him WHY, he said well.......
