Ever since I went to Wells High / Wells Community Academy High School in Chicago, Freddie and Erik Aviles (along with other Gaslight Staff) made certain that I looked good for the many ceremonies, dinners, luncheons and special events that I attended in my over 30 years with the Union League Boys & Girls Clubs , Club Two in West Twon, and the Barreto Club in Humboldt Park. Not only that, when our Club announced its annual Honor Boy/Youth of the Year, Freddie always hooked the winning teen up - head to toe, at a ridiculous price. He never charged me full price for anything, if ever he came close, he would drop in a tie, and an extra shirt to the suit that I just brought. I want to say that Joseph Rodriguez and Miguel Foster were two of the Club Kids who were dressed well by Gaslight. I know that my son Anthony was another...there are so many Club Kids and staff who received special treatment at Gaslight. I was happy for Freddie when he retired, but my closet was so sad...Freddie also sponsored area Little League Teams...I havent seen him much since he retired, but such a good guy, and all about the community...
