Throw back thursday from a family of strong women. Great grandmother owned and ran the balmoral inn and pub in forfar scotland in the 1800s developing her own whisky blends. My great aunt who owned and drove her own cars from 1919 on. Me without realizing at at the time broke barriers. When my horse and i were photographed delivering the lowell sun paper i nearly lost my job because girls werent delivery boys in the 1960s. My weekly pay collector fought for me and i became their official first delivery girl. In 1981 i became a forest and park supervisor ann stempka was first female supervisor working in skate rinks and pools but i would become massachusetts first woman to be a supervisor in a traditional forest and park setting
