Throw(way)back Thursday + Christmas yields this: Heaven Came to Earth! This version was sung by me (low part), and sisters Rosie (Smucker) Leichty (high voice) and Barb Smucker (middle range) as a special at church at some time in the early or mid-90s. Anyone out there old enough to remember 2nd Chapter of Acts--a sibling trio of two sisters and one brother? They were my favorite thing in the CCM world way back when. This song was written by Annie Herring, one of the sisters--and sung by 2nd Chapter on their Rejoice album (1981), which I have (and cherish) on both LP and CD. I got to hear 2nd Chapter on their final Far Away Places tour at Memorial Coliseum in Portland. Id give a lot to hear them again... loved their harmonies, and Matthew Wards non-auto-tuned, sharpshooter pitch accuracy. In spite of incorporating a considerable amount of melisma, there was no sliding around in his vocals! Well, this was to be about TBT and Christmas--and ended up being a promo for 2nd Chapter of Acts! #TBT
