Throwback Thursday for August: 5 years ago: Age 43, backpacked with Claire (14) and Annika (11) in Cloud Peak Wilderness, Big Horn Mts., Wyoming. 10 years ago: Age 38, taught Claire (9) how to ride Aunt Kims newly restored 1960s banana seat bike. 15 years ago: Age 33, last camping with Mom & Dad and their popup camper. 95 degrees and 100% humidity. Plagued by black flies. 20 years ago: Age 28, married Elisabeth at Devils Lake State Park, Wisconsin. 25 years ago: Age 23, unemployed and back living with Mom and Dad, had an interview that would result in an offer 5 months later for my first real job as a software developer. 30 years ago: Age 18, worked nearly 60 hours per week all summer to raise money for college. 35 years ago: Age 13, rode banana seat bikes with Bob Krueger to Port Washington (20 mi roundtrip) and Pike Lake (34 mi roundtrip). 40 years ago: Age 8, spent two weeks up at my Dads parents cottage on Kimball Lake, Ideal Corners, Minnesota with a side trip to Bemidji. 45 years ago: Age 3, went to Green Lake, Wisconsin, staying at a cabin just rented by the Alvarez family.
