Throwback Thursday of a very personal nature!! This is the intro segment to Fantastic Features, a late night horror film show that ran on weekend nights that just about anyone that grew up in the Memphis, TN area in the 1960s will remember. The host seen here, SIVAD(aka Watson Davis, R.I.P.) would come on after the intro and introduce an old horror film, and appear during commercial breaks. The films were a mixture of classics like The Wolfman and total B grade stuff like The Giant Gila Monster. The fact that this intro was filmed in Overton Park where I spent a lot of childhood days did not make it any less scary to my very young self! This is probably where my interest in horror films began. Today is the first time Ive seen this in over 45 years. Besides, I have to love a vampire/monster/Gothic character that has a very Southern accent!!!!
