Thug As Richard Sherman pointed out after receiving criticism about his post Super Bowl interview, “It seems like [thug] is the acceptable way of calling someone the n word nowadays. Substituting the word thug doesn’t disguise the negative association with Black people.” Yeah. I’m pretty sure that when someone uses the word “thug,” they’re not referring to a class of people based on their skin color, but for their “extra curricular” activities, which you know, involve breaking the law. Urban/Inner City The Black community is often referred to as urban or inner city when people are uncomfortable talking about Black people or where they live. Again, using these terms has nothing to do with skin color. It’s a politically correct attempt at not making poor folks who live in the ghetto feel bad about where they live. There are plenty of white people and other individuals from different races that live in the crappy parts of major cities. State’s Rights During the Civil Rights Movement, politicians used racially coded appeals and words such as “state’s rights” to try and capitalize on the racial anxiety during that time. This one is completely absurd. To be flat out honest, saying this phrase is synonymous with the N-word makes about as much sense as a screen door on a submarine. In other words, this has absolutely nothing to do with racism. Welfare and Food Stamps When Newt Gingrich called Obama “the food stamp” president, everyone knew what word he really was using. Hate to break it to you Mr. Race Hustler, but what Gingrich actually meant was that the TOTAL number of people on welfare and food stamps would increase dramatically under Obama. This would be a result of his poor economic policies and the overall expansion of the welfare program. The majority of individuals on food stamps aren’t black, so how does this work as a racist term? It doesn’t. Law and Order During the Civil Rights Movement, the opposition said that “Law and Order” was needed to handle the racial tension and civil rights protests. In other words, we need to control the Blacks. Whoa. Wait a minute. Are you saying that force shouldn’t be used to keep unruly crowds from beating the snot out of people, looting local businesses, and rioting? The alternative to law and order doesn’t sound all that appealing to me. Ask the business owners living in Ferguson about what happens without law and order. Also, law and order should be established, and often is, regardless of the color of the people protesting. Just saying. Cut Taxes Making the poor and people of color sound more threatening, cutting taxes has long been racial code for not using tax payer money to help Black and brown people. This one was so stupid I almost had to eat my hat to keep from screaming in frustration. Cutting taxes has nothing to do with the color of anyone’s skin. How is restraining the government from taking someone’s hard earned money racist? How is allowing someone to keep more of the money they make a bad thing? Cutting taxes provides greater wealth for all families in the country, making it easier to pay the bills. The whole idea that cutting taxes essentially shrinks the welfare state and that makes it racist is nonsense. As you can see, the author of this piece has no actual idea what a synonym is. It seems an English refresher course might be in order. The bottom line is there isn’t that much racism going on in America right now, which is why the author had to go way out in left field to create some where it didn’t exist. It’s time to stop focusing so hard on race and get back to examining the content of a person’s character. 6.1k Read more at youngcons/epic-fail-liberal-nutjob-demands-you-stop-saying-these-6-words-that-are-synonyms-for-the-n-word/#A3701q0dTF8755rx.99
