Thumbs Carllile was one of the greatest an most innovative guitar players of all time. He was a kid when he got his first guitar and had very small hands, so he learned to play with the guitar in his lap like a dobro and used the thumbs of each hand as his main plectrum. Thumbs played everywhere with everybody and was Roger Millers guitarist during Millers hayday. The reason I posted this particular video was to show how Thumbs still had his mojo...just weeks before his death. Why was he playing in a MALL? Well, the answer is Our fine healthcare system bankrupted him and he took ANYTHING he could get to feed his family. Guess what? Our healtcare system is even MORE costly and sucks EVEN MORE now.
