Thursday 19 June, 7pm, €18 (includes food and film) Surf Food & Film Night Alaska Sessions - Surfing The Last Frontier; with Murphy Barbecue, short films by Clare based surf videographers & Emerald Surfwear Cinema glór presents a night showcasing the very best in surf culture. Sumptuous food courtesy of fire-cooking specialist Murphy Barbecue, followed by screenings of a selection of short films by Clare based surf videographers, including James Skerritt (MC), all topped off by the screening of the main feature Alaska Sessions - Surfing The Last Frontier. Fire-cooking specialists Murphy Barbecue have won awards nationally & internationally for their barcecue. For over two decades they have applied an artisan approach to outdoor catering, concentrating on only the freshest produce available while paying great emphasis on locally sourced produce. Even their fire is sourced from Clare sustainable forestry. Short films on the night will be: Unpredictable Happiness - James Skerritt (MC) A short film featuring Clare based surfer Ollie OFlaherty, documenting his winter spent on the west coast of Ireland. Trees - Kevin Smith Short film which is part of the ongoing web series Growing. Features surfers Fergal Smith and Tom Doidge Harrison. This and Nothing else - Peter Conroy A dublin firefighter and his obsession with Irelands biggest and deadliest waves. Emerald Surfwear is an authentic surf brand representing all that is good and great about life on the north, south, east and west coast of Ireland. An Irish surf brand ran by Irish surfers and supported by the Irish surf community, the Emerald ethos is to support a grass roots culture in Irish surf, music, art and photography.
