Thursday 3/10/13 Devotional Message Theme: trouble the waters Text: John 5:1-13, 4:1-24, 1Thes.5:19 John 5:4a ' For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water:' Water is life and in the word of God, it represent the gift of God and his promise which is Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Now you are not empty but you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Personal saviour. Now the Lord Jesus lives in your heart with the Holy Ghost. So in 1Tim.4:14 and 2Tim.1:6, Paul was putting Timothy into remembrance to stir up the gift of God which was in him as a result of prophecy and laying on of hand. There is something in you that you need to stir, energize and troubled to cause something to happen. In the gospels(Mat., mark, Luk., and John), Jesus was still with the disciples therefore the power was not there. People could not trouble their own waters to bring healing to them but the bible says an angel went down in certain season to trouble the water. But note, whenever the water is troubled, there was healing and great power. Peter and John troubled the water in them after Christ has ascended and said to the lame man ' silver and Gold have I none but what I have I give thee; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. 1Thes.5:19 ' Quench not the spirit' stir up the gift in thee, energize your spirit man, trouble your waters and you will be a supernatural man.'
