Thursday: (April 10) My Reflection Before Abraham was, I am Gospel Reading: John 8:51-59 Jesus was not just a man who came, lived, died, and then rose again. He is not merely a great leader, wise man, or the most significant figure in history. He is Lord and God (John20:28) Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.(John8:58) To known Him was to know God the Father (Jn. 8:19; 14:9, 16-17). To look into the face of Jesus was to see God (Jn. 12:45; 14:9). To trust in Him was to believe in God (Jn. 12:44; 14:1). To reject Him is to reject God and His offer of eternal life (Jn. 15:23; 1 Jn. 4:15). To worship Him was to honor and worship God the Father (Jn. 5:23; 1 Jn. 4:2-3). Sadly, a jealous and hard-hearted people then put to death the Author of Life (Acts 3:15). Let us proclaim as the centurion did at Calvary: Clearly this Man was the Son of God! (Mk 15:39)
