The Whiskey Sisters is a co-chick fronted rock/blues/country band! Teal Collins (The Mother Truckers) and Barbara Nesbitt (Tim Flannery & The Lunatic Fringe) met in Austin and decided to get together to sing a tune or two. By the time they reached the first chorus harmonies they knew it was going to be a good thing. They have been working hard to form their new band, The Whiskey Sisters, which is a sound like nothing else youve heard. Joined by crack musicians, they are going to take the world by storm. Late Show, $7 at the door. No advance tickets! @ 10:00pm: Benny & the flybyniters often teams up with the Horton Brothers while hes in Austin. Benny & the flybyniters (his Aussie band) have been playing Rhythm & Blues since 1999. Benny & the flybyniters have been a stalwart of the Melbourne roots music scene since 1999. From humble beginings playing local bars and pubs, to tours and Festivals in the USA and Europe, the Flybyniters have made their mark. Backing the likes of Lazy Lester, Big Jay McNeely, Ska/Bluebeat great Owen Gray, to name few, Benny & the flybyniters have always been the go to band in Australia for your Rhythm & Blues fix. @ 12:00am (midnight): The Ugly Beats have been making a glorious, 60s garage-fueled racket for 11 years in their hometown of Austin, Texas and throughout the U.S., Mexico, Canada and Spain. The band wound the clock all the way back to 1966 before striking their first note in 2003 and has left it there ever since. A force to be reckoned with live, they have also released three terrific records on Get Hip Recordings: Bring on the Beats, Take a Stand with the Ugly Beats and MOTOR! Their new record Brand New Day is out now on Get Hip.
